What’s Happening December 5

Exciting Addition to Our Recycling Program

For America Recycles Day, we’re excited to announce a step forward in sustainable recycling.  Waste Management’s recycling program is expanding to now accept paper and select plastic cups.  Before tossing your used cup into the recycling bin, please empty your cup and remove any food, liquids, lids or straws.   WM now recycles paper cups and polypropolene plastic cups.  To tell if a cup is polypropolene, look for the triangle symbol with the number 5.

When you’re just not sure whether something is recyclable in our bins, you can always check our Glenwood website:

Tips For The Holidays

🚗Slow Down!  It’s a great time to slow down and be mindful.  Our speed limit on Glenwood property is 15 mph.  As you get behind the wheel to do an errand or rush to an event during this season, think of your neighbors who may not be moving as fast as they once did, or your favorite pet resident who might pop into your path unexpectedly.  Slowing down is good for your health and the health of everyone else!

🎁Beware the Pirates!  Please bring deliveries inside your building, whether they are yours or your neighbors.  Let’s discourage theft.

🕎 Bring On the Lights!  It’s already looking quite festive around Glenwood as people adorn their patios or decks.  You have until December 10th to sign up for the Holiday Decorations Contest.  There is a sign up form on your bulletin board.  Since we did not put up holiday lights at our entryway this year, decorating our patios and decks is a wonderful alternative.  The more the merrier.  Let your creativity flow.

🎄Holidays Are For Recycling!  However, our Recycling program does not include whole trees or wreaths.  If you break the live tree or wreath down into smaller pieces, the compost bins are an option.  If you don’t want to break it down, please look for another recycling option in our wider community.

Disaster Preparedness January Meeting

The Disaster Preparedness Team invites you to attend the January 7th meeting from 10 a.m. to noon in the Wy’east Room at the Clubhouse. .

The Bowl of Keys Keeps Growing

We continue to add to our stash of keys lost and turned in around the property.  There are car keys, mailbox keys – you name it.  Please, if you’ve lost a key, contact Judy Evans to have a look at her collection and see if one of these gems is yours.
