There have been a series of thefts in the past week or so that indicate someone is casing our property and helping themselves to anything unsecured. A contractor had a GPS stolen from their vehicle. Another contractor had tools stolen from the front of an unlocked building. A resident just had their garage door opener stolen from an unlocked vehicle, which of course gives the culprit access to their garage.
Please, please keep garage doors closed and man-doors locked. Please lock entryway doors even when you are leaving for just a minute and will be right back. If your car is parked in guest parking, please always make sure the car doors are locked at all times, even if you will be back in just a minute.
If you experience a theft, please follow these steps:
- Get a police report
- Attach the report to an AVR and place in Dropbox
If you see the entryway lock is compromised or suspect it may be compromised you are required to call a locksmith and change the entry door lock and provide a key to each resident in the building, especially the building representative, and one to the Maintenance Board member.
This is a good time to remind homeowners that we have a Safety page on the website which lists a number of different contacts for specific situations that occur.
