* We have a community member working daily and repeatedly with Waste Management staff, both national and local, to get our garbage issues resolved. We all owe her a deep debt of gratitude for her tireless efforts to navigate this huge company. When garbage was not picked up on Monday, our volunteer got on the phone immediately to national and local to try to get a missed pickup scheduled. Her efforts are continuing every day and we are in conversations about what happens if this contract simply can’t be worked out. Please always look on the website first for an announcement giving an update on this situation before you write an AVR. We are trying to make the contract with Waste Management work because it is a huge budget item and they are significantly lower than the competing company.
* Community members have reported seeing food scraps in the compost bins again. This is an example of wish-cycling. This only makes the recycling job harder. Please only put yard debris in the 2 compost bins.
* Items such as Styrofoam, broken toasters, and fluorescent bulbs will not be picked up if put in garbage or recycling. Please consult the Garbage and Recycling page under Community on our website to see very detailed instructions on what you can place in garbage or recycling and what you cannot place there.
* Please consider developing the habit of accessing the website. It was put in place as a cost-saving measure, to cut down on paper and printing costs. In addition, it provides a lot more information than we can provide any other way. It is very easy to just bring up glenwoodplacehoa.com on your phone, tablet or laptop. You don’t even need to log in for most of the information there.
